About Me
I think it's fair to say most video games let players experience only eight emotions: anger, panic, dread, surprise, wonder, satisfaction, joy and disappointment. And some games only disappoint.”
― Scott Rogers, Level Up!: The Guide to Great Video Game Design
I was born at a young age, and growing up I have always been playing games before I could even read. In fact, one of my memories is playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door without the ability to read and sitting there for a good while button-mashing to get past the dialogue than trying to figure out how to play the game. I still button-mash to get past the dialogue but that’s not because I am illiterate, it’s because I keep dying and the cut scenes are unskippable.
The day that I started looking at games more in-depth was when I was playing an indie game called “Cave Story”. I love this game it’s still my favorite 2d game. It was so good that I started to ask “why”. That one word “why” was the start of a never-ending rabbit hole of game-making knowledge, advice, philosophies, and most importantly passion. with all this in tow, I went to Boise State University to study Kinesiology. realized I was being stupid then got certified as a phlebotomist… Then I took online courses full-time for a Game Design Degree at Full Sail University while working full-time as a phlebotomist.
